The butterfly house

“The house was inspired by the shape of a butterfly to block the sun and provide a sense of privacy,” the house’s introduction reads.

Just a few steps from the sea, the butterfly house without walls, is for sale for $ 6.88 million. Located on the seaside on the outskirts of Vouliagmeni, Greece, this house is being likened to a one-of-a-kind construction. Viewed from above, the curvilinear architecture simulates the wings and body of a butterfly. The holes in the ceiling also create a dotted pattern for the wings.

Usually we would aim for a structure with four walls and a roof, providing privacy or protection. But this luxury home has no walls on the ground and second floors.

The house is located on an area of about 500 m2 with 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms and is divided into three levels. The main part on the ground floor is an open space, seating and dining, direct access to the pool and outdoor space. There is also a guest bedroom.

A curved sofa surrounds the room along with a natural stone wall, providing an absolute relaxation space.

The basement is the family living space, with a theater room, with three bedrooms, three bathrooms.

The top floor has the master bedroom, verdant patio and Jacuzzi. In addition, the house has a maid’s room, a laundry room and four parking spaces, with elevators taking them from floor to floor.

The architect has enhanced the beauty of the pristine white house with natural patches and green trees everywhere, including the stairs. Not only does it bring beauty, it also brings privacy to a wallless house.

Various types of natural and artificial light from the top down, from the outside seem to make the “butterfly” come to life. The absence of walls and simple furniture also allows occupants to focus on the outside scenery, from the artificial lake, the walking paths, to watching the sunset over the sea…

The house is just a short distance from the city center, where there are delicious Greek dishes or just a few steps to the sea. Currently, the architects are still completing the final stages, before going into use from the end of this year.
